Girls Night: Nickelback Concert

My Aunt Corrine and I went to the Nickelback concert. We had so much fun. It was for sure one big party. We absolutely love them. We had reserved seats and then my amazing husband Jake somehow upgraded them for no cost to the pit. We were a little nervous we may not make it out alive. Even with 3 fights around us and beer being sprayed at us from the band, we still had a blast and didn't want to leave. Who's up for next year to join us? Bc we are definitely going again.

Tied the Knot

It's a done deal!!!! Finally

We tied the knot on Thur Aug 13th
I am one lucky girl that's for sure

We are adjusting well, it is kinda weird to make the change from saying boyfriend to husband though. It is really weird when I call someone at work and it says "Brooke Gunther" on the phone. However, I love it.

Girls trip to Cali for the wedding

We shopped our hearts out! It was so much fun. Jake is in for a real treat when he goes shopping with these masters.
Shop from dawn to dusk and no lunch.... man what a job

Driving to Vegas

Mom's poor blister

Our feet were very sore so it is good we were at the Four Season's Hotel so we could be pampered and enjoy our slippers that the maid left out for us.

The rental car didn't have one inch of space for one more thing. We were packed to the max!

Yes, our boys enjoyed us being gone. They worked on boy stuff and took advantage of no women around. They claim they were glad to have us back, but I bet it is because they kept logging into online banking : )

Our Engagement 4-17-09

Jake picked the most beautiful ring ever!!! Way to go Babe
Yes, we are officially engaged. Jake completely surprised me. He told me we had to go to his family's cabin to turn on the water for the inspectors that come once a year. I kinda had some suspicions but then ruled them all out. I started to not feel very well when he came to get me so I put my pj's on. We got up the canyon and went in the cabin and I totally missed that the table was set. I asked for a tour, so we walked around and went out on the balcony. I was looking at some family pics and I guess he got down on one knee behind me and I turned to the side and walked out not knowing he was ready to pop the question. We then walked into the next room and he told me he had a question for me. I thought he was going to tease me and ask if I wanted to watch a movie or something since I always tease him, but no, he got down on his knee and asked me if I would marry him. I had planned out what I was going to say when he asked and I was so surprised that all I could say was yes of course I will. He then took me to the kitchen and we ate one of my favorite meals that he and his grandma had made, as well as my favorite dessert. It was so sweet. He truly is the greatest guy alive. I can't wait to spend eternity with him.

How We Met

Jake and I met at work. We both work at the Operations center for the bank. Jake started flirting with me when I was reading Twilight in the break room. He claims I started flirting with him first but this is my story so I will tell it as I saw it. So anyways after that he found out I had just had a birthday and so he was fishing for info about me from my manager. The following Friday, I had a computer problem and I called Jake’s manager. Jake decided he would take the call- I guess he thought he might take a chance. We flirted while he fixed my computer. Then he sent me the strangest email ever. I couldn’t tell if he was asking me out or what. I finally decided to give him my number and take a chance. He texted me later that night and the rest is history. We hit it off immediately and have spent almost everyday together since.

About Us

Our connection actually goes way back. Jake’s great grandpa Orville and my great grandpa Dick went to school together. In 2005, they were two of the three still alive of their graduating class. Also Jakes grandpa Gunther took my grandma Donna on a motorcycle ride once upon a time. So our families go way back.
Jake and I both love traveling. We have made a few trips to St. George as well as to Chicago to visit some of my family. We were there for 10 days and we had a great time. Everyone was nervous we would come home annoyed of each other but here we are still together and loving every minute of it.
